Speak Gently

For some women,
life seems to be an ongoing battle.
It is like being locked into a situation
where a person is trying to swim upstream
against a formidable current in a raging river,
where one is never really able to climb
onto the safety of the rocks,
or when one can never reach
that ever elusive, distant shore.
Each time that one of these women
appears to be safe and secure,
another terrifying reality arises for her.
Why should this be allowed?
Who will help these women?
Can anyone intervene on their behalf?
Is there even one voice
who will speak gently with Love?
